Dear Ealing Common Residents, A quick message just to update you on some positive work on the ward over the last week.
Sergeant Love and PC Young from the Ealing Common Team, were on patrol on Thursday 02/04 proactively targeting drug dealers near to Ealing Common tube station. This was following complaints from local residents and businesses, of an increase in drug activity. As they exited Ealing Common LT Station, a male was seen loitering behind a nearby bus stop on Uxbridge Road and as Officers approached he hid from view. Upon seeing Sergeant Love and PC Young, he crossed the road hurriedly into Leopold Road W5. He was chased into Leopold Road by Sergeant Love, where he was seen to throw a yellow object into the bushes. He was detained for a Section 23 Misuse of Drugs Act search. The object found in the bush was located by PC Young. In total 18 wraps of Crack Cocaine and Heroin, and over £350 cash was located. He was arrested by Sergeant Love for Possession with intent to supply Class A Drugs and Possession of Cannabis.
The story didn't end here. In Custody, during a further search, a large quantity of uncut Crack Cocaine and uncut Heroin, as well as £330 cash was located.
A thorough investigation began, phone downloads, case files and interviews - which ultimately led to the Crown Prosecution Service authorising charges for Possession with intent to supply Crack Cocaine, Possession with intent to supply Heroin and Possession of Cannabis. The Suspect was also issued a Community Protection warning for his behaviour, to deter him from the area. The Suspect was remanded to Uxbridge Magistrates Court.
A huge thank you to all residents who raised concerns, I hope we have demonstrated we are committed to making our ward a safer place.
Kind Regards Sergeant Love
